Scholarship Organizer Template. - Make a Copy

All local applications are due to Mrs. Camden via Google Classroom on March 11th at midnight! DO NOT add your transcript to the applications until after I have notified you that 1st semester grades have posted. (mid -January) Scholarship applications for local scholarships that use the common application are listed on the left side and the google doc is linked below. Check requirements for local scholarships that have individual applications.

Unofficial transcripts can be viewed/printed in WebCentral at My Services, MyCCC, Student Planning. In Student Planning, click on the academics menu at the top to get the drop-down box and select "unofficial transcript." It will be a PDF that can be downloaded. If you have any questions about transcript services provided by CCC, please call 308-398-7480.

Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship-  EducationQuest provides an annual webinar on Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation Scholarship. Application will open Nov. 1st and is due Feb. 1. 2023-2024 financial portion deadline has been extended to March 15th due to FAFSA change. Updates will be sent out to students as they come in. ***You can submit this scholarship before your 1st semester GPA has posted as long as you are above a 2.0. -
- Two Deadline dates
o February 1 (5:00 p.m. CST) - all documents must be submitted except the FAFSA Submission Summary (previously called the SAR)
o March 15 (5:00 p.m. CST) - FAFSA Submission Summary due
- Determine Financial Need - SAI (Student Aid Index) (previously called the EFC) must be $10,000 or below
o Families can use the NEW Federal Student Aid Estimator, which will calculate/estimate a family’s SAI and/or Pell eligibility
o NOTE: The Buffett Scholarship has not determined what tool will be used for students who are not eligible to file a FAFSA. More details will come as they are finalized.

Check scholarship site reviews from EdQuest here. Please use caution when providing your information on websites or via email. If it sounds too good to be true it is most likely a scam. St. Paul students may be eligible for 10+ scholarships through the GIPS Foundation. More information is at the bottom of this page.

Make a copy of the google document template for the common application to fill in your information. Use the simple signature add on to sign the application. Insert all additional required information(transcripts etc. into the file before copying and submitting. Your transcript is available on Infinite Campus under "Documents". PLEASE WAIT to add a copy of your transcript into your app until after 1st semester grades are posted. I will let you know when they are ready (mid-January). Letters of recommendation will need to be scanned and inserted into your final documents also. Please watch the tutorial on classroom for help. All applications will be turned in via Google Classroom.

American Legion Post 119- $300
American Legion Riders Scholarship “In Memory of Jim Sidel- $500.00 Scholarship. The applicant must be a past or present member of an American Legion baseball team in Howard County
Area Community Theater- $150- Major should be in the fine arts, journalism or other fields along this line.
Bettie Wegner Memorial Scholarship- $500- The applicant must be a female St. Paul graduate pursuing an in-state two or four-year degree in the Arts, Education, Journalism/Media/Communication or Culinary (FINAL YEAR 2024)
Brookefield Park Scholarship-$500-Preference given to those who have either worked at or volunteered at the Center or going into medical or social work fields.
Catholic Daughters- (Two) $200.00 each. (Open to both boys & girls)
Chapter AP-PEO- $500 - The female candidate nominated for the “National Star PEO Scholarship” selected in October, of the current school year, will automatically receive the local AP-PEO Scholarship. No application is needed.
Chester & Elda Miller Scholarship: Scholarship amount to be determined at a later date. Applicants must attend or have attended a Howard County high school. Preference will be given to students majoring in Agriculture, Fine Arts or Industrial Arts. However, all students are welcome to apply. The scholarships are available for high school graduates and also for those that have entered college. Second, Third and Fourth year college students can apply, in addition to the application they will need to include a transcript of their grades.
Citizens Bank and Trust- (Three) $500
Dennis Lukasiewicz Memorial Scholarship- $500.00 Scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing a 2 or 4 year degree in an agricultural related field with preference placed on production agriculture.
Doug Ackles Memorial Educational Scholarship: Two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded to students who are pursuing a degree in education.
GCA Days Scholarship-Amount varies
Greg Dobesh: In Memory of Bob Christensen Scholarship- $1000. ½ year one ½ year two. (Science, Agri-Science & Engineering)
Kenny Markvicka Memorial Scholarship- (Three) $400 scholarships. Candidate must attend a two or four-year technical school or college and major in Agriculture, Fish and Wildlife or a field associated with the outdoors.
Laura Lassen Memorial Scholarship. (Two) $250.00 Scholarships. One will be available for a student pursuing a degree in the Medical Field. One will be available for a student pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
LouPlatte Conference Scholarship (You do not need to fill out an application for this Scholarship)
Masonic Lodge Scholarship-Three $500.00 Scholarships
The Rogers Scholarship: $1,000 Scholarship, renewable up to 4 years of undergraduate studies. Students must have done community service at “St. Paul Bikes” with John Rogers. Students must be pursuing a degree or a certificate in engineering/technology in order to apply.
Royal Coachmen Car Club Scholarship-$500
Russ Sack Memorial Scholarship-$1,000-Candidate must major in Agriculture and attend a two or four-year technical school or college. Please read the application link.
Son's of the American Legion Scholarship-$250
St. Paul Booster Club Scholarship- (Four) $500 Scholarships- Must have participated in High School Athletics.
St. Paul Education Association Scholarship-$250- Any Major
St. Paul Education Association Teacher Education Scholarship- $250. Must be going into teacher education
St. Paul Fire Department Scholarship- $300
St. Paul Rescue Squad Scholarship-$300
St. Paul PTO Scholarships-$250
St. Paul Staff Scholarships- (Three) $250 Scholarships. The number of scholarships may vary from year to year.
TeamMates Scholarship Program-$200.00 ($100 per semester) Must have fully participated in Howard County TeamMates Program for at least two years. Use the St. Paul Common Scholarship Application for the local scholarship.
Teammates State Application is due January 15th. Mrs. Camden will send out several emails directly to seniors who are eligible prior to Christmas break, for further details regarding the application process. Apply here.

Alfred and Julia Schubert Scholarship (Two-Three) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to a St. Paul Graduate who will attend a trade school. Application Link

American Legion Junior Auxiliary Unit 119 – (One) $200)
American Red Cross-$250-$750 depending upon pints donated. Must be a National Honor Society Officer to apply. See Mrs. Hill for application materials.
Anthony Dush Memorial Scholarship- (2) $1,000 scholarships. The applicant must be a St. Paul Graduate pursuing a 2 yr. degree in Agriculture, Welding, Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC. Essay to the committee should be authentic and heartfelt.
Carl and Doris Anderson Memorial Scholarship- (1) $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a St. Paul Graduate going into agriculture.
Douglas Mayberry “Mr. May” Memorial Scholarship- (1)$300.00
Fred & Nora Sonderup Educational Scholarship- $1000-Must be majoring in a field of teacher education.
Fred & Nora Sonderup Medical Scholarship-$1000- Must be entering a medical field.
Gladys & Ernest Cerney Educational Scholarship- $1000- Must be majoring in a field of teacher education. Students can reapply for this scholarship, following high school graduation, as they continue in college. Application Link
Harlan James "Jim" Christensen Servant Leadership Award - (2)$1000- Complete the leadership essay linked above and submit with the common scholarship application.
Homestead Bank- (Two) $750 scholarships- $375 per semester upon proof of registration. You must have at least a "B" average to apply.
Homestead Bank FBLA- (1)$250 scholarship- You must be a member of the St. Paul FBLA organization and have at least a "B" average to apply.
Hometown Market-Amount Varies-Register for this scholarship at Hometown Market. Scholarship based on votes.
Howard County Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship- (Two) $2,000 -Must be going into a medical field.
Howard County Farm Bureau Scholarship- up to$1000-Must be going into an agriculture field, agri-business, or mechanical agriculture related field.
Jean Rozmiarek Education Memorial Scholarships - (Two) $500. Must be majoring in Education. Students can reapply for this scholarship, following high school graduation, as they continue in college. Application Link
John Weitzel “Class Act” Scholarship - One $1,000 Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any St. Paul High School graduate who is planning to attend a post-secondary educational institution, regardless of their major.
Joseph Scott Foster Memorial Scholarship-$250-renewable up to 4 years. Qualifying applicants must participate in at least one sport and band AS A SENIOR!
Little Cats Youth Football Scholarship- (Two) $500.00 Scholarships. Students should possess strong characteristics of leadership and kindness and have a proven record of volunteering to help support the Little Cats Youth Football Program in St. Paul. Applicants should plan to further education by attending a two or four year college.
Pauline Lind Fine Arts Scholarship-$1000-Must be majoring in a fine arts field i.e. music, art, performance, photography, etc. Application Link
Robert Owen Memorial Scholarship- $500 - must have participated in music during high school. Preference given to students majoring in music.
St. Paul Art Club Scholarship-$100-Must be a member of the Art club. See Mrs. Lemmerman for application materials. Check on this one.....
St. Paul FFA Chapter Scholarships-$200- See Mr. Bowder for these scholarships.
The St. Paul High School Alumni Scholarship-$500- The scholarship will be awarded to a St. Paul Graduate who will attend a trade school. Application Link
The St. Paul Knights of Columbus Scholarship: $250.00 The male person applying for this scholarship should have a relative, who is a member or deceased member of Knights of Columbus and is a parishioner of either the Sts. Peter and Paul, Farwell, Elba or St. Libory parishes. The field of interest the applicant is pursuing should be service or health oriented such as the medical field, social work, teaching or any area of special services. The scholarship will be paid after the second semester, when the student has sent a paid receipt of second semester fees to the current Knights of Columbus treasurer. Application Link
St. Paul United Methodist Church Scholarship-$500-Must be affiliated with the United Methodist Church to apply.
St. Paul Rotary Club Scholarships-$500 - Effective Feb. 2023 only Interact members are eligible to apply

First Responder Recruitment and Retention Act. It’s available to law enforcement, fire fighters, and paramedics who are employed full-time, and their legal dependents, who meet the requirements of the Act. The student must be degree seeking, meaning working towards an associates or bachelor’s degree. It provides for a tuition wavier on any tuition balance remaining after federal and state grants are applied at any community college, state college, or University of NE campus. There are other requirements that must be met depending on if the student/dependent is a law enforcement or fire fighter/paramedic. I’ve attached the entire bill in full. You can also find additional information on the Department of Revenue’s site at https://revenue.nebraska.gov/individuals/first-responder-recruitment-and-retention-act.
